I guess I'm the only American to post so far? I'd like to say hey to all the international Airsoft(Strikeball) players out there. Thats way awesome that the sport is so large in Russia. I looked at all the pictures from your past events and almost died when I saw someone there with a PK machinegun. Is there anyone out there that could tell me how that was built? Please visit our team website at http://www.tac4airsoft.com I've always admired the Russian military and I'm in the process of equiping myself as a VDV trooper form the 1980s. I almost have my AKS-74 built and I am looking for 1980s KLMK camouflage. Is there anyone out there in Russia that can help me? http://www.tac4airsoft.com

Hi Jason! You're right! You're the first American to post in this forum.
I should say that you've got a cool website. What I really admire is the idea of renting guns. In Russia sometimes it takes 2 or more months to order and to by an AEG and I know some guys how would be happy to rent a gun for a pair of big event. It's a pitty but our Russian strikeball community is totaly non-commercial and do not accept any rental services.
PK machinegun you've mentioned is a real piece of art made by Mocow team "USSR Marines". To my mind it was built by putting some Marui or TOP gearbox into the collectors full-metal model of PK. I could be mistaken but I guess it was original M60 gearbox. Buy the way it's not the only hand-made AEG Marines have. On the last Strikeball Season Opening (annual 24 hours non-stop event with more than 300 participants) in May I personally saw a short RPK (no stock version) with a drum magazine held by one of Marines comanders.
It's not a problem to by KLMK in Moscow but I think that its delivery from Moscow to SLC by express mail (DHL or UPS) will cost too much.
Speaking about VDV troopers, I am not a good specialist in their equipment but I belive that there are some former VDV people in the forum who whould be happy to help you.

Hello guys, Yeahh, the correct method of "portianka's" use is a real trick as it was mentioned above, but if you still thinking of it we can provide you some useful information on the subject. Please advise. P.S. You've got interesting site. P.P.S. We also have one http://www.cavalry.ru (sorry, but it is still only in Russian)

I'm trying to remember what a portyankas are....those are those cloth wrappings that soldiers wore on their feet instead of socks, right? Do they still wear those today? And heres another question I had: Why do Russian soldiers wear those white stips of cotton inside their shirt collars?

To Shelest: I think you could help the forener to purchase the suit and then figure out what would be the price for delivery (by actually going to the post office). If he agrees to pay that delivery price - great, if not - then you both would have to wait till one of airsofters goes to US and helps you out transferring the suit. If you won't be able to find anyone who could help with to transport the package, I'll be happy to assist. Although you would have to wait till december or even january To Moody: Check out http://www.splav.ru/index_e.htm All of russian airsofters know about that company, but I think you could find it interesting (and prices - rather inexpensive, imho); although from what I see they don't have the targeted item. I'm not sure if you can purchase items online, but I'm quite sure that some of fellow russian airsofters could help and purchase the items you are interesteed in for you. You could also check out http://www.rusmilitary.com . They have what you need in stock (clothing> summer> KLMK oversuit) but I find the items to be greatly overpriced. Just me and my two cents

Hello everyone, I too am an American with a fondness for Russian BDUs and weaponry. It is nice to see such a well-developed community of airsoft players in Russia. The easiest source of Russian BDUs for North Americans is easily http://www.russiancombatgear.com I do have a question regarding the use of authentic military patches though. I'd like to use some authentic Russian VDV patches on my BDUs... Specifically, patches from the 76th Airborne. Is this considered bad taste? Do you Russian players use authentic patches on your BDUs?
...and then I said to myself, Why should I split it two ways?...

To Gray Mouser: There is no patch of 76th Airborn. All russian airborn force use patches of one type.
