While I have a soft spot for JAC gas airsoft guns, it is hard not to be an overwhelming fan of the the Kokusai BV Mechanism. Out of the box, a stock gun is capable of more power than a similar JAC UZI. Also, the build quality is fantastic. The gun is rock solid and very heavy, on par with the heavyweight models produced by JAC or MGC and far sturdier than the KWC and Western Arms made offerings. The magazines are steel and are externally identical to real UZI mags, the bb feed tubing being the only difference. They are also air loading or "airpush" style, meaning they have no moving parts. Propellant gas is routed from the gas mechanism into the magazine, driving them into the firing chamber. As the same gas is used to fire the bb's, none is wasted, and every last bb will be fed into the chamber and fired. The mags are utterly reliable and will never jam or fail. It is also very easy to increase the capacity of the magazines to 300 or even 500 bb's simply by adding more feed tubing and converting it into a drum mag type.
If your experience is limited to the original JAC UZI, you are in for a shock, as this is probably the nicest gas UZI made, even edging out the outstanding Marushin UZI. While arguably the Marushin shell ejecting gas blowback UZI is the most realistic in terms of function, it's both impractical for skirmishing and pretty weak in the power department. Beyond that though, the Kokusai Mini UZI has a lot more metal, in fact no production gas powered Mini UZI has more metal content.

Pretty much the only plastic is the grips and main receiver, but that's all made of MLP (Metal Laced Polymer, aka "Heavyweight" material), which has metal powder mixed in for addes stregth and heft. MLP is strong, rigid, and even cool to the touch like metal. Werstern Arms and KWC use ordinary ABS for these assemblies, Kokusai is the only one to use the richer MLP material. In terms of pure build quality, I would put this gun well above KWC or WA and rank it in Asahi country.
You may have noticed the "replica bolt" in the list of metal parts... The gun has a massive metal bolt that can be moved by working the cocking handle on the top of the gun, opening the ejection port. Gun is full and semi-auto capable, and uses the proper selector switch to choose firing modes. The gun also sports a functioning grip safety, which must be engaged properly to allow the gun to fire.
The gun is devastatingly powerful, and it will easily crack 400 fps on lowly green gas. The velocity can be adjusted lower simply by using less pressure / weaker gas, so the gun can be made legal no matter what the velocity limits are on your home field. What's more, many real steel cosmetic components can be mounted to this gun. They are certainly one of my favorite airsoft guns, built like tanks and extremely fun to shoot. The gun is compact yet quite heavy, clocking in at roughly six pounds, identical to what the real gun weighs. Comfortable and manageable with the stock folded (with the buttplate doubling as a vertical grip), the gun also has great ergonomics when the stock is deployed, positioning the sights right in front of your eyes without the need to crane your neck. Balance is also just about perfect, making this gun a dominator in both CQB and open field engagements.
