Здравствуйте. I'm the "guy who runs kamouflage.net". I have three examples of "Flora", which differ only in the background colours. One has a green/khaki background; one has a stone/sand coloured background; one has a grey-green background.

If possible, I would like to know:
1) official and unofficial designations for each pattern.
2) the year in which each pattern was trialled.
3) the year in which each pattern was authorised for use.
4) the terrains in which each pattern is used.
5) the branches/units that use each pattern.

It's a lot to ask, but I suspect that this is the right place in which to ask.

Спасибо большое!

Where did your hear about it ? This is Flora pattern, only in other colours.

Usually the reason of different colors is different textile companies that made fabric of same pattern. But about your case - I never seen "Flora" (the most common pattern in Russia) in sand colours.

If possible, I would like to know:
1) official and unofficial designations for each pattern.

What do you mean by "Official designations" ? Usually this is only name, given by textile production company or company, which made uniform. This may be also numeric index. Some designations, like Flora and Berezka, left from the Soviet times, when all were centralized.

2) the year in which each pattern was trialled.
3) the year in which each pattern was authorised for use.

You'd better ask manufactureres of military closing about it .

4) the terrains in which each pattern is used.

5) the branches/units that use each pattern.

In modern Russian milirary the is no central deparment which regulates that question. Even in one unit there could be soldiers wearing different uniform (of course, they would have same insingnia). As I know, most of regular troops use Flora, and most of "speicial" forces and speicial units of Ministry of Interior Affairs use less common patterns. And sometimes they even use "Team special" sign (yes, written in English!).

"Team Special"? Well, it doesn't surprise me. I'm still appalled by the "ОХРЯНЯ" badge that I've seen in Splav's catalogue!
