Berget 4 is an event taking place next summer (date still to be finalised) near Härnösand in northern Sweden. The English-language version of the website is at http://haf.mine.nu/b4/index_eng.html

The basic scenario is that a multinational UN peacekeeping force is in the region to... well, keep the peace; then bad things happen and, in true narrativium-based fashion, all hell breaks loose.

The scenario centres on two opposing villages, both fully functioning with churches, restaurants, etc. and populated by non-combatants recruited from LARP forums. We aim to have a number of vehicles, both military and civilian, and hopefully including some form of armoured vehicles. Pyro and special effects will be used to enhance the atmosphere.

Even the course of justice will be simulated, with MPs able to arrest and investigate war crimes.


Combatants must be 18 or over, but younger players are welcome for non-combatant roles.

Seems realistic that UN troops consist of different players speaking in different languages. But about arresting civilians... I think nobody would like to be arrested and tried, because everybody want to shoot.

The prison sentence will be short (I think the plan at the moment is 6 hours, but it's not finalised), and the civilians - who will be recruited separately - will be unarmed anyway.

I'll be playing an MP, so... Got to find some use for the cuffs, after all! :D

Wow. Two villages with non- combatanrs. Realy big scale game, dream of a russian airsofter. I only hope someday I'll take place in a such BIG game

It's very interesting. 2 opposing villages. How much players could be there, aproximetly? I'd like to enjoy it. So I need more info, especially about travelling in Sweden.

We're expecting 350-500 players, from all over the world. The largest booking I've heard about so far is a small army coming from Slovakia...

Travelling to Sweden is pretty easy; I think there are plenty of flights from Russia to Stockholm, and within Sweden it's a simple domestic flight to the game area. Not sure about visas and things, but that can be checked.

Well, we managed to temporarily kill our booking server. We released another 100 tickets last night, and after fifteen minutes the server got overloaded and shut down. It's all up and running now, though.

Astonishingly, we've already got around 450 bookings, and we haven't even started recruiting civilians or bad guys yet. Remarkable.

I should point out that I don't speak Russian - I started learning Russian, but then the library wanted the book back....

Anyway, the Berget 3 DVD is now ready and will be available for sale on the website at http://www.berget-events.com as soon as the web shop's ready.

The film is compiled from over 20 hours of original footage, is really well edited (yes, I've seen some of the dailies), and showcases one of the biggest airsoft events ever in Scandinavia.

(Oh, and Berget 4 is more than twice as big. Buy the DVD, come to Sweden. Bookings are closed, but hang about for cancellations or come to Berget 5 in 2006.)

I saw berget 3 trailers and DASK video. Very impressive.
I hope next year I will come. Now I waiting for DVD release.
